Currently, in the world are trying to substitute fossil energy for renewable energy. One of is biomass Biomass a natural resource derived from biological nature. palm shells has been successfully used by Tembilahan PLTU as an effort coal. The results technical evaluation and monitoring show operating parameters within normal limits. Palm known have lower sulfur content than coal so that emissions produced less When viewed characteristics based on analysis proximate, ultimate calorific value, it shows coconut waste, especially shells, not significantly different shells. Simulation shell with maximum yield bio-charcoal occurring at temperature 600°C which produces total 30.35% bio-charcoal, (LHV) 33.03 MJ/kg, ash 18.99%. While simulation syngas occurred 800°C 82.43% syngas, high H 2 49.67% low CO 2.90%.
